Revised Assistive Technology for the Early Intervention Program Guidance Document Available

The Bureau of Early Intervention (BEI) is pleased to announce the revised guidance document, Assistive Technology for the Early Intervention Program (EIP) has been issued and is available on the BEI webpage: https://health.ny.gov/community/infants_children/early_intervention/memoranda.htm.

Assistive Technology for the Early Intervention Program, formerly titled Assistive Technology has been updated, incorporating the current New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) EIP regulations and policy guidance. This document also includes Assistive Technology Device acquisition procedures established by NYSDOH in 2015 and changes that comport with the recently approved Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) which includes Assistive Technology under the EIP. The purpose of this document is to provide clarification to the field and create consistency regarding Assistive Technology throughout the State.
