Successful Installation of NYEIS Version 4.2 (OPRA)

Dear Colleague:

NYEIS Production was brought back on-line as scheduled at 8:00 AM on Thursday, August 27, 2015 after the successful installation of Version 4.2 (OPRA) and is now available for use. This version was released to implement the Medicaid program requirement to include the ordering/prescribing/referring/attending (OPRA) provider information on all claims for services paid for by Medicaid. Upon release of this version (August 27, 2015), all billing providers will be required to add the referring provider’s NPI on all claims for service coordination, evaluations (including screenings, core, bi-lingual add on and supplemental evaluation claims), and all other general services. This requirement applies to claims regardless of the date of service. There is no ability to bypass this claiming edit in NYEIS once the new version is promoted and referring provider data is required whether a child is Medicaid eligible, has other third party commercial insurance or no insurance coverage.

The NYEIS Version 4.2 Release Notes will be posted on the NYEIS information web page at http://cma.com/client-portals/new-york-early-intervention-system-nyeis/nyeis-release-notes/ soon. Additionally, updates to the NYEIS User Manual Unit 8 – Provider Invoicing will be made available on the Health Commerce System (HCS). A communication will be sent when available with instructions on access to the user manual.
