New York State Department of Health New York Early Intervention System (NYEIS) Electronic Mailing List NYEIS Provider Electronic 837 Billing Companion Guide Updated and Available
Dear Colleague: This e-mail is in follow-up to the EI-NYEIS Ordering/Referring Communication sent to NYEIS users on Monday, July 13, 2015, informing billing providers of an upcoming change to NYEIS. The change, anticipated to be deployed in mid-August, will require that the ordering/prescribing/referring/attending (OPRA) provider’s NPI number be included on all general service claims including service coordination and evaluations (screenings, core, bi-lingual add on and supplemental claims).
The NYEIS Provider Electronic 837 Billing Companion Guide has been updated and is now available on the NYEIS webpage, http://cma.com/client-portals/new-york-early-intervention-system-nyeis/nyeis-guide/nyeis-targeted-resources/ under the “Provider Electronic Billing” heading for EI providers who submit claims into NYEIS using electronic 837s. The companion guide updates include OPRA formatting requirements which can be found beginning on page 10 under the heading “Referring Provider Name (Loop 2310A)” as well F-File messages beginning on page 34.
Information regarding providers electronically testing this new requirement will be made available soon. If you have any questions or need further information regarding electronic claim submissions, please send an e-mail to nyeis@health.ny.gov.
