Professional Development Opportunities

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce the availability of webinars developed and delivered by the Division for Early Childhood (DEC). DEC is one of seventeen divisions of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), the largest professional organization dedicated to improving the educational success of individuals with disabilities. DEC promotes policies and advances evidence-based practices that support families and enhance the optimal development of young children who have or are at risk for developmental delays.

If interested in attending, please follow this link www.dec-sped.org/learningdecks to a series of webinars provided by DEC.

Other learnings available on the DEC website include:

  • The DEC Recommended Practices section of the DEC website at http://www.dec-sped.org/recommendedpractices.  These recommended practices were developed to provide guidance to practitioners and families about the most effective ways to improve the learning outcomes and promote the development of young children, birth through five years of age, who have or are at-risk for developmental delays or disabilities.
  • Videos about the Recommended Practices http://www.dec-sped.org/rpvideos

Although the Department cannot endorse these webinars, providers who attend the webinars may apply these hours toward their professional development hours as per the Provider Agreement.

For further information about DEC please contact by Email: dec@dec-sped.org or Phone: 310-428-7209.
